Pledge

THE CANDIDATE PLEDGE FOR COME TOGETHER IOWA POLITICAL PARTY

  1. All of our candidates sign a pledge saying they will not raise or spend any money on their campaign. This will end the cycle of special interests infuencing elections in our state and national government. No more bought and paid for politicians. Candidates will work with their local/state and national political action committees to do cooperative ads, public relations, and common sharing of information about all candidates. Donors can contribute to local/state and national political action committees of Come Together Iowa, but with the upper limit of $1200 per year. Candidates can debate, walk in parades, be interviewed, go door to door, be on websites, and on social media. Candidates can share cooperative information, flyers and newsletters.
  2. All political donations will go to county and state wide party endowment funds and distributed for all candidates as cooperative efforts, not individual expenditures. We run as a team.
  3. All candidates will sign a pledge not to do “negative” campaigning, no mud slinging or nonfactual ads or promotions. We want to promote real facts and real solutions. (If you can not say something nice about someone, then do not say anything.)
  4. All candidates will sign a pledge to represent “all” the people of Iowa. We will not be partisan. Our candidates can speak and vote the way they feel comfortable. We will not force or influence our candidates to any common party agenda. We believe our candidates are well-informed, have their own opinions, and can vote to represent all the people within their district or state.
  5. All candidates will sign a pledge to voluntarily honor a 12 year term limit if elected,. which we would like to see for all elected offices, as well as all judges, and top administrative positions.
  6. All candidates will sign a pledge to not discriminate against anyone for their race, religion, culture, sexual preference or life style. All eligible voters are welcome to join the Come Together Iowa Political Party. Their will be no mandatory membership fees.
  7. We will ask Iowa to accept referendums, petitions and recall to give voice to the people of Iowa. We will sponsor a website to promote citizen input.
  8. We will promote Iowa as the “Place to Be” as we grow.
  9. All candidates and members will offer to volunteer their time to “give back” to their communities, state and nation. We want to be more than just a political party, and do to so we we will become involved in community projects that benefit everyone.
  1. We want to promote our party as a non-zero sum effort to give all people equality in economics, justice and learning. We are all in this together. We can all gain and improve our world. Our priority is peace, prosperity and equality for all. We want to be the non political political party of the future.
